Do lab grown diamonds get cloudy or change color?
No. A lab grown diamond does not get cloudy, fade or turn yellow over time. If it looks dull, it is usually lotion or skin oil on the stone, and warm soapy water with a soft brush brings the sparkle back.
How are lab grown diamonds made?
They are grown from a small diamond seed using heat and pressure (HPHT) or carbon-rich gas (CVD). The result is a real diamond crystal that is then cut and polished exactly like a mined diamond.
Are lab grown diamonds real diamonds?
Yes. Lab grown diamonds are real diamonds, made of pure carbon with the same crystal structure, hardness and sparkle as mined diamonds. The only difference is that they are grown in a lab instead of mined.
Do lab grown diamonds pass a diamond tester?
Yes. A lab grown diamond is a real diamond, so standard diamond testers read it as diamond. Only advanced gemological equipment can tell that it was grown in a lab.
